Is illumination and DreamWorks the same?
While both DreamWorks Animation and Illumination are owned by NBC Universal, the companies have distinct operations, creative visions, and cultures.
Does Disney own illumination?
Illumination, formerly known as Illumination Entertainment, is an American animation studio founded by Chris Meledandri in 2007 and is a division of Universal Pictures, a division of Comcast through its wholly owned subsidiary NBCUniversal; Meledandri produces the films, while Universal finances and distributes them.
How long has Pixar been around?
Pixar began in 1979, known as Graphics Group, owned by George Lucas, the producer of Star Wars. Then in 1982, it became Pixar Studios, owned by Disney, with John Lasseter, as chief creative officer. Here is a list of all the movies they made from the past two decades. They made a lot, but it was worth it!
Why did Disney acquire Pixar?
Pixar was known for its innovation and academician opinion filmmaking before the merger, but it had poor performance in distributing its movies. As we explained the merger helped both companies to fill their gaps and experience a high growth rate.
